Tony Clifton Sings In Possibly The Weirdest Muppets Special Ever Made

There are a number of contenders for the most bizarre Muppets special ever produced, but my vote is cast for 1982’s The Fantastic Miss Piggy Show. Of particular interest is the fact that lounge singer Tony Clifton—who sometimes is mistakenly confused with Taxi actor Andy Kaufman—makes a rare extended appearance on the program, singing several songs.

Apparently in the rest of the special there is a devil’s three-way love triangle between Piggy, John Ritter, and George Hamilton—but the Clifton bits are clearly (in my opinion) the highlight:
