The One Where Chloe From “Smallville” Was Involved In A Sex Cult

It sounds like the worst episode of Smallville ever!

Here’s another of those stories where if a conspiracy theorist on his or her own came up with it—you know, instant emergency psychiatric hold. Insane! Couldn’t possibly happen in reality!

And yet…

Clark Kent and Chloe Sullivan

Actress Allison Mack—best remembered as spunky nerdy Chloe Sullivan in the Superman-based TV show Smallvilleis allegedly the “key recruiter” of a sex cult that included branding women over their pubic region and giving beatings if the members gained too much weight. She seems to have been in the thrall of self-improvement guru/possible sex trafficker Keith Raniere, who was arrested recently in Mexico. The “outer cult” that had some veneer of legitimacy is called Nxivm (which backwards is pronounced, Mxyzptlk)…and the alleged “inner circle” cult’s name is “DOS” (Dominos Obsequious Sororium, or, Master Over the Slave Women).

Per a 2017 Daily Mail article:

DOS operates as a master-slave hierarchy, with Raniere at the top and Mack as his immediate subordinate…Women in the group are allegedly kept on a 500- to 800-calorie a day diet because Raniere likes thin women and believes fat ‘interferes’ with his energy levels, Parlato claims. Slaves must immediately answer their masters any time they text or call them, and if they do not recruit enough slaves of their own, they are beaten with a paddle on their buttocks.

Chloe Sullivan, folks. And believe me, it gets WEIRDER!

Because the Smallville connection doesn’t end there. Oh, no: if it ended there, that would almost make this merely an insane story, not a batshit-insane one. No, it gets better…

Alison Mack and Kristen Kreuk on “Smallville”

Allegedly, actress Kristen Kreuk—who played Clark Kent’s girlfriend Lana Lang on the show—first got Mack involved in at least the self-improvement part of the cult. She recently put out a statement denying any knowledge of/involvement with the possible more unsavory aspects of it:

‘I left about five years ago and have had minimal contact with those who were still involved. The accusations that I was in the ‘inner circle’ or recruiting women as ‘sex slaves’ are blatantly false…

‘During my time, I never experienced an illegal or nefarious activity.

‘I am horrified and disgusted by what has come out about DOS. Thank you to all the brave women who have come forward to share their stories and expose DOS; I can’t imagine how difficult this has been for you.

‘I am deeply disturbed and embarrassed to have been associated with NXIVM. I hope that the investigation leads to justice for all of those affected.’

Nicki Clyne

But it doesn’t end there…no, it gets even weirder. Because not only was Mack and Kreuk involved with at least the “outer circle” of the cult…two actresses from Battlestar Galactica were as well! Nicki Clyne, who played Cally on the show, is alleged to be part of DOS, including being the recipient of the brand. And Grace Park, who was “Boomer” on Battlestar, has at least been connected with Nxivm itself.

So we seem to have here…some sort of cult that allegedly preyed on actresses from late 1990s/early Aughts sci-fi TV shows.

And of course, we all knew Chloe Sullivan was vulnerable to this sort of thing, because of that storyline where she got seduced by Doomsday.

The rabbit hole regarding this story, when you get to all the other people involved (including, admittedly in the most tangential way possible, the Dalai Lama), is DEEP. Too deep for me at this time to go through. But anyway…there you have it.

It is expected that Mack will be arrested soon—but who knows in this crazy world?

After this and the Ren & Stimpy story, I’m kinda like…
