Jordan Peele Quit Acting Because He Was Offered The Role Of Poop

Makes sense to me.

Oscar-nominated Get Out director Jordan Peele announced that he had quit acting last month—but he finally explained why, as he recently accepted his D.G.A. Award for best first-time director.

The reason was The Emoji Movie:

The Emoji Movie actually helped me quit acting. I was offered the role of Poop. This is true. I would not make this up.

Peele’s response to his agent after being informed that he was up for the role of Poop?

That’s fucked up.

But it gets better!

While Peele wavered on whether to take the part, his agent called him back—and told him that Sir Patrick Stewart was offered the role instead, and snatched it right up.

Peele’s response to that?

Fuck this.

And then he went on to be an Oscar-nominated director of one of the biggest hits of 2017.

Here’s your Zen koan for the day.
