The First Picture Of Rami Malek As Freddie Mercury

Entertainment Weekly had the first look at Mr. Robot’s Rami Malek as Queen’s Freddie Mercury—on what would have been the late Mercury’s 71st birthday—for the biopic Bohemian Rhapsody.

Said Malek to EW about his transformation into Mercury: “When you’re able to open your eyes and see a different person staring back at you in the mirror, it’s a very affirming moment.”

Just saw Malek in the indie Buster’s Mal Heart recently (it’s just hit Netflix), and the actor is wicked talented—great to see him up front in a big-budget flick.

Bohemian Rhapsody is being directed by Bryan Singer for 20th Century Fox, and is scheduled to be released December 25, 2018.
