Ewan McGregor “Happy” To Do Obi-Wan Solo Movie

Ewan McGregor recently told EW that he’d be “happy” to star in an Obi-Wan Kenobi solo Star Wars movie if he was asked:

“There’s no official offer, and I haven’t met them about it or anything…But I’ve always said that I’d be happy to do it if they wanted to do it. It would be a good segue between the last episode of the prequels and the new episodes.”

McGregor—who is starring in Season 3 of Fargo, premiering today—cautioned, however, that Star Wars producers seem to have a full slate of movies for the foreseeable future: “I think they’ve got films to make until the 2020s, so I don’t think it’s going to happen soon if it happens at all.”

The Last Jedi debuts December 15 of this year, the Han Solo solo movie is dropping May 25, 2018, and one would imagine Episode IX is set for between then and 2020. Is there room for an Obi-Wan flick? I really like Ewan McGregor, so I’ll just give a very biased “I sure hope so!”
